Most of the sex dolls manufactured are female

 McMullen primarily makes female love dolls, but also makes a small number of male dolls. However, the latter are bought by fewer people, only 10 percent of customers are in demand.

McMullen says, "Even though I'm an artist, I'm still attracted to the female form; that's my subject, my muse." He emphasizes that women in real life need not be afraid of his male sex dolls: "Imitation is the best compliment. Do I want these dolls to replace real women? Of course not."

Instead, Copenhagen-based photographer Benita Marcussen chose to gradually deconstruct such stigmas through the lens, capturing men who live with inflatable lifelike sex dolls for long periods of time in a way she doesn't look at any other way.

At the beginning of the project, Marcussen found these inflatable sex dolls through private forums on the Internet, a secret that cannot be hidden in the sunlight and that they can only discuss with each other in private forums for fear of being viewed through social glasses. Here they can talk about what they want and show pictures of their dolls. There is also a virtual marketplace where dolls can be bought and sold.

The size is lifelike and the touch bears elasticity. Their most important characteristic is that they are "at the mercy of others". They are not "active" and they do not "supply". The different light arrangements create an attractive atmosphere.
