Domestic use of sex dolls and sex robots
Although sex toys depicting parts of the human body are widely accepted and standardized, full-body humanoid love dolls and sex robots have sparked controversy.
By 2050, it will be perfectly normal for women and men to experience love and sex with robots. This bold prediction by robotics expert David Levy sparked a debate now over a decade old about the ethics, design, use and impact of humanoid, anatomically correct sex robots and sex dolls and their non-interactions. Futurist Ian Pearson further predicts that by 2050, women and men will will have sex with robots more often than their peers. People may question the validity of these predictions, but there is no doubt that technological changes affecting all areas of life will not leave human sexuality untouched. Significant changes in sexual behavior have been identified as a result of digital media and technology. In this case, embodied technologies such as sex dolls and sex robots should not be ignored, especially when the popularity of humanoid materials for sex use has already begun.
Romy
A typical application scenario for lifelike sex doll and sex robot is a home environment, where these cultural relics can be used for entertainment and long-term home use after purchase. Some authors predict that sex dolls and sex robots will have powerful positive effects, including social companionship, sexual exploration, pleasure, and increased personal and couple satisfaction. Others, focusing on male users, predict that objectification and violence against women will have strong negative effects [13]]. They assume that men who use woman-like sex dolls or sex robots are being trained to sexually objectify real women and ignore sexual consent. Furthermore, they predict that women and adolescent girls who have been harmed by the pervasive unrealistic standards of beauty in the media will be exposed to female sex dolls and sex robots that are perfectly beautiful, eternally young, and totally obedient in marketing. Are we looking for a future with more gender inequality?
Or can we only do it with one-sided, male-centric, gender-negative predictions? Why don't we ask other questions, such as: What do women want from innovative sex technology? How do we design and market women- and couple-friendly, feminist, queer, empowering, and inclusive sexual health and wellbeing to advance sex dolls and robots? So far, most claims about the current and future effects of sex dolls and sex robots are purely speculative, as design studies and empirical application and impact studies are scarce.
